M.J. Felder has always been a creative. His siblings and cousins remember the elaborate plots and conflicts he would create with his many action figures as a child. As a preteen, he would take his mother’s index cards and write short rhymes for his own enjoyment. 

Lyrics and all sorts of profound writing grew to become a heavy interest and inspiration for M.J. He delved deep into the discographies of artists like Stevie Wonder, Earth, Wind & Fire, Eric B. & RAKIM and others. He began writing and recording his own Rap music and briefly pursued a career. M.J.’s passion for wordplay grew to include poetry and performing spoken word, which he still enjoys today. Movies also became a big focus, and M.J. routinely reviews films with anyone who “wants the smoke!” Lol. 

But the turning point came when his mother and sister encouraged him to read a novel they had just finished. After a two-week protest, he would crack the book open and behold… epiphany! M.J. became a voracious reader of all sorts of Novels by authors like: Stephen King, Walter Mosley, Tom Holland, Sistah Souljah, and Neil Gaiman. The creator in him determined to write one of his own. He created a character and then a premise for a unique Fantasy tale. But it all became reality when he came up with the title Soul Of A Knight!

M.J. Felder lives in Buffalo, NY with his Wife and three sons where he is a career Firefighter in the Buffalo Fire Department.
